This treatment uses techniques drawn from "Nuad Thai" or "Thai Yoga". The massage focuses on specific pressure points and also employs some gentle stretching. Traditional Thai Massage uses no oils or lotions. You remain clothed during a treatment (I provide you with Thai massage suite or you can bring your own). There is constant body contact between the therapist and client, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled stretched and rocked. The client wears loose, comfortable cloth and lies on firm mattress on the floor.
You will be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the massage, that is also combined with deep static and rhythmic pressures. The massage generally follows designated lines ("Sen") in the body. The legs and feet of therapist can be used to position the body or limbs of the client. A full Thai massage session may last two hours and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body. There is a standard procedure & rhythm to the massage, which I will adjust to fit each client.
Alternatively I can adapt the Traditional Thai Massage to use simpler stretches, which I can carry out on a table - feel free to discuss with me what would you prefer before we begin.
